Get to know me
Both being raised in a Japanese culture and studying architecture have given me a very unique design perspective. Japanese culture has taught me to always be empathetic and consider other people’s pain. Architecture has taught me to be user-centric and to always have a reason behind every design decision. To me, thinking of a wireframe is like drawing a floor plan of a house (i.e. what task would the user want to accomplish after going through onboarding process? vs. which room would a person want to go after entering a house?) Similarly, designing a user interface is like designing an interior of a room (i.e. what type of visual treatment would make the task easiest for the user? vs. what type of materials would enhance the experience of this room?) It’s very interesting to see so many similarities between the two design fields, but unlike architecture, I like the fact that digital design is so malleable and changing constantly to fit the needs of the users. I very much enjoy learning new things everyday to improve myself and the world around me.
Outside of work, I enjoy traveling, trying out new restaurants, and watching movies. I’m always up for suggestions! 🙂
